LONDON FASHION WEEK 2015 with Hakan Yildirim

Mr. Yildirim is an established designer in Turkey, where he has worked for more than 15 years. His award-winning label  Hakaan pushes fashion boundaries with sharp statement dresses and crisp separates. He has quickly become a favourite with editors and fashionistas including Madonna and Marisa Tomei. I admire him and he is my favourite.

The Spring Summer 2015 collection by Hakan Yıldırım presented at London Fashion Week is the more approachable line consisting of ready-to-wear garments that still maintain the level of class and luxurious design elements. And this spring and summer is time to get excited as Hakaan's futuristic take on feminine tailoring will game-change your wardrobe. What strike at first is the collections’ quality and designers’ creativity. No other designer has shown so much of appreciation to an insect in his art work as Hakan.

Shapes structures and colours was inspired by honey bee that has served the needs of man for centuries and now makes its way to fashion world.  Drawing influence directly from honeycomb and bee hives he created hexagonal structured tops fasten by industrial silver nuts, printed jumpers with large bee motifs, tulle-like sheer skirts were created with smaller bees.

The hive colletion presented by swarm of models ranged in colours from black and white through shades of yellow, rust orange and soft lilac. All that enriched with halo-style hats and oversized visors were worn on top. The Queen Bee of the collection is the hexagonal patchwork coat in lilac, orange, black and white.
